Here are some pictures of one of my Princess Merida dolls. The movie follows what happens next as Merida brings a curse to her kingdom and has to break the spell herself.
Princess Merida then announces she will compete for her own hand and hits every target perfectly. They come and one by one blunder, fail, and goof up at the games. King Fergus organizes a competition for all the eligible young men in the kingdom to vie for the hand of his beautiful young daughter. She's a skilled archer and athlete and wants to be free to live her own dreams. She is determined to control her own destiny. Her mother has high expectations of molding her into a perfect princess and finding a husband for her daughter. Daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor, she is at the age to begin receiving suitors. But beyond those, she'll cover anything with an interesting enough story or cast of characters, and is eager to devour the best new media as it comes out.Princess Merida is a 16 year old impetuous and feisty girl living in Scotland in the 10th century. She particularly likes media that draws on other works, from book adaptations to meta-genre movies. Thanks to ten years in theatre, she has a special interest in musicals and musical episodes, which led to her podcast Needs More Jazzhands. Meagan can't resist a good story, whether that takes the form of a book, a movie, a TV series, or a particularly interesting roleplaying game. In addition, she has a master's degree in Communication and Rhetorical Studies from Syracuse University, where she produced a book chapter on Antichrist TV shows and a thesis focusing on apocalyptic memes. She has an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where some of her most influential classes analyzed children's literature, historical film, and the fantasy/sci fi genres.
